Yesterday Orla, Godmi , Kenayah and Miss Jordan held a liturgy for the loved ones who had died. The liturgy was about Orla’s little brother called Frankie and Godmi and Kenayah’s mum, Mrs Kabala who was a mid-day supervisor and one of the dinner ladies. They played a song called In the arms of an angel.
The scripture was about Martha and Mary’s brother dying. In the scripture reading Mary asked, “Lord why did you not get here a few days earlier, you could have saved our brother?” Jesus was touched about what they said so then Jesus said, ”Show me where he is.” So he went and made Lazarus alive. Jesus told the people who were there, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” Jesus asked Martha if she believed this and she said she did. We do too. We believe we will see our loved ones again in heaven and that death isn’t the end.
Here are some responses about what people said; Lyndon says that the Gospel story gives us hope in life and light in the darkness. Joseph says that I think that Jesus bought Lazarus to life to show people that he is the son of God. Zuzanna says that by telling someone else that if you believe in God then you shall not perish but have eternal life in paradise with Jesus. Adam Says that I think that when Jesus brought Lazarus back to life everyone was confused but it sounded good and thoughtful. I wonder if Lazarus died again. Saeema says I can spread the news that Jesus has risen and overcome death.
Mrs Watkins made a beautiful white lamp with Jesus and Mary on each side, there were three candles in it, one with a cross, one with a dove and one with a heart. It said We pray for the people who lost their loved ones.
