In today’s assembly, we talked about the importance of peace. Mrs Beer discussed what it means to be peaceful and how it helps us live out a fruitful life.
We heard this reading:
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
Glory to You, O Lord.
“Peace I give to you .
My own peace I leave with you .
A peace which no-one else can offer,
This is my gift to you.
Don’t ever let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
My gift to you is my peace.”
The Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
We heard how Jesus gave us the gift of peace and how we should never feel worried or scared as God’s peace is always with us.
We spent a few moments relaxing, in silence, listening to our breath going in and out – we felt peaceful.
We can help others to be at peace. The Year 2s had a lot of ideas of how we could do this:
- smile at others
- help others who are hurt
- talk to others about their worries
- play with others so they don’t feel lonely
- suggest sitting quietly together as we did in assembly
- showing others love
This week’s mission is to support others to be peaceful. Let us know in the comments below how you get on.
