As we enter the month of October, our attention turns to the Holy Rosary.

This week, in particular, the children are going to spend more time praying with Mary. This could be by:

  • Praying the Rosary with their family
  • Praying the Rosary with their classmates
  • Writing a spontaneous prayer to Mary at our corridor prayer area
  • Joining our lunchtime Rosary Club
  • Saying the Hail, Mary

or any other way they can think of.

Every child at St Clare’s has a set of Rosary Beads which they can use to structure their prayers.

We look forward to hearing how you have spent more time praying with Mary in the comments below.

This week, we ensured that our year 5 liturgy was focused around The Rosary and Our Mother Mary. We spoke about how thankful we were to God for bringing Mary into our lives and we were thankful to Mary herself for birthing Jesus our saviour.

In Year 4 we have decided to say the Hail Mary every day to pray to Mary. We are also going to pray the rosary in our class Liturgy. At home we are going to pray the Rosary with our families.

In Year 1 we talked about how important Mary is and we learnt about the rosary and how we can pray using the rosary. We said the hail Mary prayer during our class liturgy.

In Year 3, the children have been discussing Mary Our Mother, the months when we remember her especially and why she is so important. We spoke about all the important women in our lives, including our mums and ways that we can show love to them. The children are also going to say a decade of the rosary together. We finished by saying the ‘Hail Mary’ prayer together.

Our class liturgy in Year 6 this week was centered around the Rosary and the ways we can learn from Mary. We learned from the scripture how much Mary trusted God’s plan for her and how willing she was to live out her mission. We tried to be like Mary this week by trusting God and find comfort in the fact that He is always guiding us. We also said prayers for mothers and women who have helped shape our lives like Mary and thanked God for their love and support.
