Our Key Stage 2 Carol Concert was great! There was a great conductor – Mr Ashenhurst – and great readers, talented singers, confident, solos, and terrific actors . The juniors had a great time singing in sync with piano playing, great spot lights and fairy lights in the background with the Advent candles burning brightly.
We had fun singing and acting out the scripture scenes. The whole setup was amazingly decorated and we recorded it on Zoom so all of the families could watch – they also could watch it live on Zoom. We also did a Nativity scene at the very end of it which included all of these actors: The three kings, who were played by Jasmine, Sienna I and Amelia. Joseph and Mary (Julia K and Alanah) Shepherds (Daisy C, Jacinta and Emilia) The Angels ( Godmi, Hailey and Apsara) Angel Gabriel ( Victoria) Donkeys ( Cherry W and Alexander). There were also soloists for some of the songs and they all did great, during the singing and the actions for each of the songs. All the readers had very loud, clear voices and all the families would have understood what the readers were saying.
The Advent joy was spread around the hall as we sang and acted. Throughout the practises, there were a few mistakes but we made it in the end. We sang and we acted, and we did well. We sang a lot a songs like Little Donkey and Love Shone Down. Afterwards, we got extra break and we had toast and hot dogs as we’re raising money for CAFOD World Gifts.
Thank you to all our teachers and teaching assistants for helping us. We loved it – Miss Jordan said it was the best Carol Concert yet.
