This week, we enter the month of October, when we pray to Our Mother, Mary.
The Mark 10 Mission has set us a challenge: to pray a decade of the Rosary every day during October – and we are taking on the challenge!
We began in our whole school collective worship when we began with the First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection.
We didn’t have our Rosary Beads with us in the hall, so we used our fingers to count off the Hail Marys.
However, every child and adult in the school has a set of Rosary Beads that they will use to pray the Rosary in class.

The children in EYFS have been saying a decade of the rosary every morning this week. We have spoken abut the importance of the rosary as it is one of Mary’s months.
We have enjoyed making time each day to pray a decade of the Rosary as it provides us with a calm and focused time with God and Mary. We like listening to the scripture and the explanation given by the Mark 10 mission as it helps us to understand what we should be thinking about as we pray. We have used Rosary beads for most of our prayers this week and find they help us to focus on our thoughts and prayers.
In Year 4 we have been praying the Rosary each day to remember Mary during her month. We have also talked about when we can pray and how to pray. Our class mission has been to say either the Hail Mary, the Our Father or the Sign of the Cross each day at home with someone that we live with.
In Year 5, we have enjoyed praying a decade of the rosary each day. We reminded ourselves just how important Mary our Mother is and how we can turn to her in prayer throughout her month to help us be closer to God.
In Year One we have talked about the Rosary. We have talked about how special Mary is in our lives.
In Year 2, we have remembered how important Mary is to us through praying a decade of the Rosary every day. We talked about Mary’s love for us all as God’s children and all this means to us. It has helped us feel closer to God.
In Year 3, we have been praying a Decade of the Rosary and also thinking about how this not only helps us to be closer to Mary our mother but to be closer to God. We linked this to our school’s Mission Statement of faithfulness
