As we are in the month of Mary, we began by saying:
Our new word of the week is diversity. We learnt that this means we are all different!
We heard this scripture:
This taught us that we are all different – we all have different gifts and talents, but that we are still all children of God. It also tells us that we must seek out opportunities to use our gifts and talents for the good of all.
This is what our mission is for this week: To think about what gifts you bring to the St Clare’s community and to share your gifts with others this week.

EYFS have been thinking about all the gifts and talents that they have that they would like to share with others at school this year. Some of these include, drawing, swimming, running, football, showing love, speaking other languages, dancing, singing, talking, sharing, listening and kickboxing.
In Year 2 some children planned a Liturgy about Diversity to deliver to the rest of their class. The focal point of the Liturgy was themselves as they recognised, they are all very different and that it is ok to be so and that we should celebrate this. Our script for Liturgy was “From one man God made every nation of the human race, that should inhibit the whole Earth” Acts of the Apostles 17:26-27. The children enjoyed looking at how different they all are.
In year 6 we appreciate that we are all different. We bring lots of different gifts to our friends, school and family, For example, we read to younger pupils and our EYFS buddies, we try to cheer people up, we help other people, we are good team players. We know God has given us all wonderful gifts that we must share with everyone.
In Year 3 we thought about friendship and how being kind to others is a gift that we could bring to the St Clare’s community.
Year 4 celebrated diversity in their class liturgy this week. They listened to the scripture from 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 about all be a part of Jesus but being unique and different. They sang the Butterfly song to celebrate all the differences in God’s creatures and drew pictures to show what diversity meant to them. Finally, they finished with a mission to compliment someone on something that made then unique.
In Year One we talked about how we are all different. This makes the world interesting! We all named our talents; we celebrated them together.
This week Year 5 talked all about being unique and how special that is. We discussed all of our differences and how we can use them to help others.
