This week’s word is ‘Kingdom’.
We talked about the line from the Our Father: ‘Thy kingdom come’ and how this means that we want it to be on Earth as it is in heaven.
We can do this by being kind, helping others, showing faithfulness and so on.
Another way is by sharing what we have with those who have very little. Your mission this week, therefore, is to donate something to the Send a Smile Appeal.

EYFS have been talking about how they can support the Send a smile project by giving any small treats that they receive to the war veterans and the old people. They could give up their pocket money one week and buy some items for them and ask at home if there are any unused hats, scarves and gloves etc that can be given to the appeal.
This week Year 5 have discussed the items we could donate to the ‘send a smile’ appeal. We talked about the items that we would be the happiest to receive, taking into account the people who would be receiving them. We pledged to ask our families to donate as much as they could.
In year 6 we spoke about the things that would make us smile that we could pass onto others. We said we could include treats such as chocolate or mince pies, toiletries such as perfume, and things to keep cosy like hats and fluffy socks! We also said we could write letters and Christmas cards to spread joy and happiness.
