This week’s word is ‘prudence’.

Years 5 & 6 learnt about prudence in their RE lesson last week and said that it was one of the cardinal virtues. We discussed that it meant to stop and think and to make the right choice when faced with making a decision.

We heard this scripture reading:

We talked about the decisions we have to make – whether to step in when someone is being mean to someone else; whether to do as our parents ask us; whether to persevere or to give up when faced with difficult schoolwork.

In all cases, we must do what Jesus would have done and making these good choices is showing prudence.

Your mission this week is to show prudence when making a decision. Let us know in the comments how you achieve this week’s mission.

In Year 2 the children showed prudence by…
Tejin – in English, I chose to write my own sentences and not copy from the board.
Ady – In a morning, when we’ve finished breakfast, my sister leaves her plate so I tidy it to the kitchen.
Cairo – I helped my mum clean the house because some of the mess was mine.
