With our Inset Day falling on the official World Youth Fun Day, we celebrated a day early with the rest of the schools across the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust!
All of our children joined online with the Nottingham Diocese Catholic Youth Service on their YouTube channel.
The day began with a liturgy – all of the Trust together in prayer. Year 4 said that this was their favourite part of the day.
The first session linked in with the recent climate summit: COP26. The children, especially our Eco Team, have done a lot of work on the school becoming more eco-friendly so this gave the children chance to reflect on what they have done and what they could do going forward.
The second session concentrated on “Mission”. With Father Gabriel visiting Year 6 last week to talk about vocation, this reinforced what they had learnt.
CAFOD contributed to session 3 with a focus on ‘Faith in action’. The children enjoyed listening to the stories.
Year 3 loved joining in with the singing throughout the day.
All of the children came in their own clothes to raise money for the NDCYS. We collected over £140!
