This week’s word is ‘youth’ which refers to young people.
We heard this piece of scripture:

Young people know how to live life to the full, to be hopeful.
We talked about how we could help others to see hope when they are in difficult situations.
- if someone gets hurt on the playground you can talk to them and assure them they will soon be better
- you can donate food to the foodbank to give hope to the hungry
- you can offer to help your teacher when they are very busy by handing out books/holding open the door
- you can help your mum or dad when they seem stressed
- you can smile at everyone – a smile can make a huge difference, even though it is such a small act

Your mission this week is to help others to see hope when they are in a difficult situation. Let us know in the comments below how you achieve this week’s mission.

EYFS have talked about how they can help others to have hope in difficult situations. They suggested when someone tells you that you’re not good at something don’t let this bring you down as we are all good at different things. The children also said that their Year 6 buddies are really good at helping with this if they are sad or upset.
Year 3 have been busy this week practising for their assembly on random acts of kindness. The children discussed how this can help others to see hope when they are in a difficult situation by cheering them up. The random acts of kindness include writing a nice message to someone, sharing equipment at playtime and many more ways we can spread kindness through our actions
In Year 2 we talked about how we can give food to a food bank so that it be shared with those who are struggling to buy enough. we also talked about how we can help at home to make life a little easier for our parents.
In Year 5 this week we have been thinking about how we feel when faced with a difficult situation and how we might like to be treated. We then spoke about how we can make sure we are doing this for other people also. We said we would be kind and caring, listen to their problems and do our best to help in any way we could. If we can’t help them ourselves, we said we could find help like from a teacher. Some specific examples were; helping when a friends is stuck in class, helping when they are hurt, being kind to our siblings, donating toys in the build up to Christmas and donating to local food banks.
