Year 5 had Lectio Divina as their Guided Reading lesson on Monday. It was very peaceful and joyful. We used the Gospel reading from last Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King, and the resources Fr Simon gave our teacher that show when we help those in need, we are looking at the face of Jesus.
We thought that God was telling us that whenever you help someone, you are helping Jesus. It made us feel happy and sad at the same time, that some people suffer a lot but that we can help them too. It comforted us to know that in Heaven there will be equal rights and we felt excited that in Heaven, people will have justice. God is saying to us that when you are alive, you are to give to those who need help, those who need food, or clothes, or who need welcoming and that was what we found challenging that we should live a better life on earth and do good deeds every day. Fr Simon told us a long time ago that every morning, he asks God what He wants of him and I think we could start to do the same.
