Mission: To live together as we should within our school community

Today, Mrs Beer broadcast our assembly online for both those children in school and those working from home.

She told us how the Apostles lived together, sharing what they had, selling all of their possessions to make sure everyone had what they needed and treated each other as family.

We know that even though some of us are in school and some of us are at home, we are still all part of the St Clare’s community. This week’s mission is to act as we should within our school community.

The Year 4 children came up with some ideas of what we could do in school: be kind to each other, share our ideas, help each other with our work and play together nicely in the playground. Mrs Beer suggested that those at home could show that they are part of the school community by participating in online lessons, liturgies and assemblies, by showing kindness to their friends when they talk to them on the phone or online and sharing their time by helping younger siblings with their schoolwork.

Mrs Beer has invited all of the children at home to add how they achieve this mission in the comments.

We can’t wait to see your responses!

Year 1 have been sharing and working together with Year 2, to achieve this mission . We played together outside and Winter shared her hat with a friend because they were cold.
We have had a lovely community atmosphere in our classes this week.

I have achieved this weeks mission by participating in the live lessons everyday. I have completed my work. I am now able to photograph it and send it through to my teachers on dojo. I have helped my parents by asking them questions when they are not on work calls.

In Year 4, we have been learning together and caring for each other. We have had Zoom meetings with our classmates at home so that everyone feels included. We have also been following our school rules so that everyone feels happy in our school community.

Year 3 have achieved the mission this week by being kind to each other and helping each other in class. They have also listened to Mrs Kotarba and taken part in live lessons with those not in school letting them have opportunities to speak and answer questions. They have shared a class liturgy together and talked about what Jesus and God means to them.

In Year 5 we planned and led a liturgy with Year 6 on discipleship. We also helped each other when we came across a problem in our learning. We helped others, not just those in our class. Even though some of us are at home, we do lessons together via zoom and kindly help each other out.

Y6 have completed this mission by sharing learning with friends online and helping each other in the classroom. We are also a team with our friends in Y5 as we plan liturgies to share with our classmates.
