Our wonderful Year 2 children led us in an Easter Liturgy this afternoon.
They acted out the story of the Road to Emmaus and asked us if we can be as joyful as the disciples were to share the Good News of Jesus.
The children had each brought in an item or a picture of something that brings them joy and the hall was full of them! We had cuddly toys, football shirts, photos of pets and families, trophies, musical instruments, rugby balls and dolls. It was fantastic!
The children gave everyone the mission of bringing joy to others and they wrote these on pieces of paper which are now hanging from our prayer tree. The Year 2 children began this mission by delivering bunches of flowers to all of the classes!
Our final song was “Go out in the World” – so we did! We march and danced down the corridors and out into the playground! The children were “full of joy and happiness”!
