Mass on the Feast Day of Saint Catherine of Siena, 29th April 2021

Yesterday there was Mass in thanksgiving and memory of Mrs Kabala and Frankie Bulger on the Feast Day of Saint Catherine of Siena. She was a Doctor of the church and had the courage to stand up to important people. She stood up to the Pope who was hiding in the South of France and she told him to go back to Rome to do his job properly.

The Scripture reading was from Matthew’s Gospel and tells us Jesus will carry our worries for us and when we are tired, we will find peace in Him:

“Come to me, all you who labour and are over burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Shoulder my yoke and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for your souls.
Yes my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

There is a saying, ”Be who who God wants you to be,” which Saint Catherine of Siena said. Daniel felt, joyful and understanding, because I understood about it. Kyran felt happy because the scripture was wonderful and uplifting. Supreet felt, understanding because we should be peaceful. Tendai felt, emotional because we should try to understand more. Joseph felt, relaxed.
