May is the Month of Mary
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” (Luke 1:38)
This week, we have learned about how important Mary is. We discussed her qualities and the history of the May processions. We looked at how we could celebrate Mary during this month. Some of our ideas were to pray the rosary and create May Altars in each class. Children were questioned as to what would go on their May altar. They suggested using a blue cloth, a statue or picture, rosary beads, fresh flowers and prayers.
Our Mission
We were asked to pray to Mary this week and to create our own May Altars using some of the ideas discussed in Assembly. What will go on your altar?

We put blue flowers on our may alter and we wrote prayers on them. We thought about Mary and what she means to us. We also said the Hail Mary prayer.
On our may alter we did blue flowers in collective worship and we did the Rosary. This helped us to think about May: the month of Mary. We did the Hail Mary ten times.
