This week, Mrs Beer talked to the school about diversity. We talked about how everyone is different and how that is a good thing!
We heard this scripture:
We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God’s message, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever has authority should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:4-8
We talked about how some of us are good at maths, some are good at sports, some are very kind friends and some are great listeners – we all have gifts that God has given us and we should share those gifts with others.

Your mission this week is to think about what gifts you bring to the St Clare’s community and to share your gifts with others this week.
Let us know how you achieve this week’s mission by telling us in the comments below.

This week, in Year 2 we discussed how we respect one another in spite of our differences The children in Year 2 have thought about each other’s differences and how God has made us all unique and special. They have also discussed ways that we are different and how God loved those around him despite their differences. They have made sure that children in their class did not feel left out at playtimes by inviting them to play their games.
In year 5, we spoke about the importance of accepting everyone for who they are and what they believe. We discussed that everyone has been created by God differently to have different talents and qualities, and that this is what makes life so special. Within the class, we have a variety of children that have different background cultures and they loved sharing where their heritage came from.
In Year 3 we have been discussing each other’s differences and the fact that we are all God’s children and brothers and sisters. We have been talking about not judging others because of their skin colour, hair colour or eye colour because God made us all different and special. We also spoke about how God gave us different gifts and qualities so that we can help others.
In Year 1 we have been discussing about how different we all are and how we were created in God’s image. We coloured the world and the people around it to show that we are all different and we should embrace each other.
In Year 6 we spoke about the idea that even though we are all equal as God’s children, we each have gifts that make us unique and special and these should be celebrated and used to help others. For example: some of us are gifted in maths and so should help others when they are stuck; some of us are kind and funny so use our gifts to cheer each other up; some of us are great at drawing and art and use our skills to make our classroom and lives a brighter place. God gave us all different gifts so we could enrich the lives of others and so we have a duty to use these as best we can and celebrate our differences.
In Year 4 we talked about the gifts that we have given and how we use them. We looked at what makes use all different and unique but how our gifts can unite us.
