On Friday 28th January, we celebrated the Feast Day of St Thomas Aquinas after whom our Trust is named.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we were unable to meet in person, but that did not prevent the whole Trust from coming together online.
We began with prayers from The Briars led by Tom B and Tom S. We saw a video about Laudato Si – a letter form Pope Francis, encouraging everyone to look after Our Common Home: the Earth. We also saw what other schools in our Trust have been doing as part of the Eco Roadmap.
The children all wrote on a strip of paper, something they wanted to protect and we made it into a paper chain.
During the rest of the day, the children watched videos about how making little changes to their lives could have a big impact and also a Q & A session with two of the Briars team who had been to COP26.
The day ended with us all celebrating Mass together with Bishop Patrick.

Year 4 really enjoyed taking part in the Feast Day and talking about what they can do to look after our earth both at school and at home. Mass was special sharing in it with all the schools and children in the trust knowing we all trust and believe in God and all want to make changes to look after the earth he gave us.
