This week’s word is example. We talked about how we could give an example or set an example.
We heard this scripture:
It tells us that we should be like God – that he is an example to us. By acting as he wants us to, we are setting an example for others.
Jesus set an example for us in many ways – including when he washed his disciples’ feet. He showed us how to serve.

In Year 4 we talked about what a good role model looks like. We said that by showing good listening and working hard we are being a role model to others in the class. we also said that by looking out for those that have no one to play with and helping those who have fallen on the playground makes us roles models to others in the schhol. We can also be role models at home by showing care for our world and those in it.
In year 2 we think that to a good role model we have to be good to others, show others good behaviour, be kind and caring, respect everyone and everything and spread the good news of Jesus.
Year 2 are going home this Friday and will carry out all of the things they believe are true to be a good role model.
EYFS have been talking about ways they can be a good role model. Some of them suggested that they could show good listening, share with others, be kind by giving a hug, sit nicely on the carpet, take turns in games and helping to tidy up.
Year 6 talked about how they can be good role models to all of the other children i the school. We understnad that as the oldest, we are looked up to and therefore should be doing all we can to make better choices and think about all we do. This is especially important when we are looking after our EYFS buddies, ensuring they make good choices and follow in our footsteps.
Year 3 discussed being a good role model to other children in the class by making sure that they are following the adults instructions and leading by example. We also talked about how we can be role models to younger people in our family who may look up to us.
