This week’s word is “holiness”. Holiness means to belong to God. In order to do this, we must be like God by following in the footsteps of Jesus.
We heard the story of Jesus and Zaccheus. Despite him being a despised tax collector, Jesus befriended him and joined him for dinner. He forgave his past sins and treated him the same as everyone else.
We also talked about the other qualities that Jesus demonstrated such as kindness, helping others, healing others, thanking others, sharing with others and being faithful to God.
Your mission this week therefore is to think about one of Jesus’ qualities and to practise it in order to become more holy.

The children in EYFS have decided that they will show holiness by showing love to others when they are sad by giving them a hug and inviting them to play in their game. They also decided that they would forgive their classmates when they upset them, say unkind words or don’t share toys with them.
Year 6 chose to practice to qualities of kindness and perseverance. Showing kindness to all those we meet, including children or people we may not usually play with or talk to. Helping others in the classroom and helping the staff in school. We also chose perseverance because sometimes our work can be tricky and we need to preserve in order to try our best.
In Year One we talked about how we can live like Jesus every day. We thought of what Jesus would do in different situations such as falling out with our friends or feeling angry. We know that Jesus showed kindness to everyone and we thought about how we could show kindness in our lives, at school and at home.
In RE this week we have been looking at Jesuses qualities and how we can live this out in our own lives. We discussed the quality of forgiveness and how we can forgive others if they make mistakes. We also thought about how Jesus became a good communicator and how we can ensure that we communicate to others effectively.
