This week’s work is ‘almsgiving’.
We talked about how almsgiving is either sharing what you have or giving to charity.
We heard this scripture:

In this Bible reading, we hear how that when you are helping others, it is like you are directly helping Jesus – you are doing God’s work on Earth.

At St Clare’s, we are raising money to support CAFOD through their Big Lent Walk. As giving to charity is part of almsgiving, this week’s mission is to raise money for the Big Lent Walk.
Let us know how you achieve this week’s mission in the comments below.

EYFS have decided to give food to a neighbour, to be a good friend by giving their time to each other and continue to raise money for CAFOD by completing the Big Lent Walk.
In Year 2 we are enjoying taking part in the Big Lent Walk for CAFOD and persuading our family friends to pay a pound towards our walking.
Most of Year 6 are doing the best they can to raise more than £5 for charity. We are taking part in the Lent walk and being excellent role models.
In Year 5 we reflected on Almsgiving during our retreat with chaplain Alex. We thought about how we are giving up time to complete the big lent walk for CAFOD and how we could give up our time at home to help others such as helping parents or volunteering for local charities.
In Year One we are enjoying the Big Lent Walk. We are going to remind our families to send in some money to help CAFOD.
