This week’s word is ‘identity’. We talked about how identity is who you are as a person – your personality, your abilities, how you see yourself.
We heard this piece of scripture:
God calls Jeremiah to a life greater than he thinks, a life of purpose and meaning: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah’s life was about something bigger than himself, something bigger than his own desires; it was about God’s work, and God claimed him even before he was born, according to the scripture.
While we are not Jeremiah, the prophet’s call story can serve to illuminate our own vocations, our own calls to discipleship.
Your mission this week is to answer these questions: What work is God calling you to do? What gifts and talents do you have that can make the world more like God’s kingdom in heaven?

In Year 5 we looked at the gifts that make us UNIQUE. We made acrostic poem using the word UNIQUE. We then compared our lives and our gifts from God with those of St Maximillion. Finally we discusse how we are already like God and how we could be more like God going forwards
In Year 4 we discussed, that identity meant ‘who we are’ and all the good and not so good parts about us and our personalities.
Some of the gifts we can use to serve God are:
Being a kind leader to play with others and ensure no one is left out.
Being caring I could serve God by helping others.
Being a cheerful person I can cheer others up when they need it.
Being a helpful person I can help others in need and teach them about God.
Being an entertainer I can draw and make people laugh that need it.
Being mindful I Can take care of God’s creations.
In Year 6 this week we meditated on the scripture and thought about the gifts God has given us. We spoke about gifts such as those who were very patient and kind which made them excellent friends and helpers. Other said they were funny and were able to cheer people up and some were good talkers which could be used to spread words of joy and love. We thanked God for our many gifts and thought about how we could use them every day to make our world a happier place.
In EYFS we talked about who we are and why God made us to be as we are. We discussed what makes us special and the gifts and talents that God gave us and how we can use these to be good people and help those around us. The children talked about how they can help others by holding the door open, by tidying the classroom and at home, by caring for those who are sad or lonely by telling them a joke or giving them a hug or including them in their game.
In Year 2 we talked about how we can use our gifts in school. We said we could be caring, smile at others, listen to our learning, take part in our prayer and worship times, be forgiving and be good role models for Jesus.
In Year One we talked about how we are all unique and have gifts. We talked about how we can use our kindness and love to help others at school and at home.
