Thursday 9th September
Fr Paul came to celebrate Mass and we welcomed our new members of staff.
Year 5 recognised the scripture from our first R.E. unit of work when Saint Paul tells us to put on love, compassion, kindness, gentleness and patience. Fr Paul talked about Our Lady’s Birthday as the most important Birthday in the world as she was to be the mother of God. He said she would have been very thankful and happy on her Birthday, once she knew she was the mother of God and knowing her son was Jesus Christ, son of God and she wouldn’t have minded not getting presents, cake or cards.
Fr Paul blessed our badges and said a prayer that the new Chaplaincy team would live out the school mission statement and help build a community in Christ’s love. Here is the prayer. Our first job for the team is to write down our aims and write our own school Chaplaincy prayer.
We pray for our new school chaplaincy team, that they may help the school community grow in faith and love of Jesus Christ through their example and work.
We pray they live out our mission statement to build a community in Christ’s love and that they may be strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit.
by the new team.
