This week’s word is: justice. Justice is when the world is fair for everyone, no matter your race, religion, gender, age or any other characteristic.

Sadly, there is a lot of injustice in our world: those affected by wars such as the one in Israel/Gaza; those who don’t have enough to eat; those who are sick and cannot access healthcare; those who do not have access to clean water and those without a home for example.
This week’s mission is to spend some time with God, thinking about these people affected by injustice and praying for an end to these inequalities in our world.

In RE we have looked at the work of St Oscar Romero. We then prayed to those people who were affected during this time and to those who are still affected by equality and injustice.
Year 4 we spoke about the word justice and also the injustices around our world currently. We spoke about how many children there age are now completely misplaced through the fighting and lack of things we sometimes take for granted. We learned about St Christopher and that he is the patron saint of travelling. We prayed that they travel on their journey to their new lives and that there is justice in there situation eventually.
Year 2 have prayed this week for those less fortunate than themselves. After our trip to the Botanical Gardens we prayed to thank God for his amazing world and everything in it. We prayed that we could look after his world and help to stop the damage that is being done to it.
In Year 5 this week we meditated on the theme of Justice and said our own prayers for those around the world who face injustice. Some specific examples of our prayers were to those who live in places with conflict, those who face racism, those who don’t have access to education and those who are homeless.
In Year One we thought about all the people who do not have as much as us. We prayed for people who do not have a home or food to eat.
