This week’s word is ‘Rosary’.

All of the children knew what the Rosary is and that it is associated with Our Mother, Mary.

As a school, we joined in with The Mark 10 Mission’s Rosary Challenge by praying a decade of the Rosary together in the hall.

We prayed the 1st Joyful Mystery – The Anunciation.

Your mission this week is to pray a decade of the Rosary with your class.

Let us know in the comments which of the mysteries you prayed and how it made you feel.

In Year 4 we prayed on the 5th Joyful Mystery – The finding of Jesus in the temple.

We used the Mark Mission Videos to engage our thoughts and focus more deeply on our intentions.

In EYFS we prayed the 4th glorious mystery on Wednesday-The Assumption of Mary. The children learned about why we celebrate the entry of Mary into heaven, body and soul. They said it made them feel closer to Mary, Jesus’s mother.

In Year 6 this week we have prayed a decade of the Holy Rosary and meditated on the Joyful Mystery of the nativity. In this prayer, we were guided to think about Mary and Joseph looking over the baby Jesus in the manger and think about the love they had for him, and for us. We thought about the love of Mary and the love of God as we said the prayers together. We enjoyed using the class rosary beads to help us focus and count prayers.
